Born in Normanton, Yorkshire, England in 1947, son of a coal miner and no intentions of following his father’s footsteps. With great respect for his parents and after various jobs, attains a place at college in York.

While there he decides to improve his education further. and after college begins to write short stories for his present company periodical. WIth this love of writing he begins to write books, mainly fiction, and in an attempt to learn the ins and outs of writing and editing, uses Lulu Press to self-publish two books.

Alan successfully finds an agent in America willing to publish his work. This has spurred him on to write more titles. Coupled with past experiences and a creative mind, who knows what the future may hold for him.
